After completing the HTML part of this site I took a bit of pause from writing and enrolled in a Codecademy course – Build Website UIs.
This is an intensive course which teaches HTML, CSS and design principals mixed with tutorials and a final coding project. You spend on average <2 hours a day, 5 lessons a week for 8 weeks. This is quite intensive, especially if you already have a very busy schedule, but you can complete the lessons at your own pace within the 10 weeks and I found myself catching up in batches and at the weekends.
The course was super helpful for learning new skills quickly and in an organized way. By the time I had finished the course, I felt much more confident in the knowledge that I had already gained and understood clearly what more I needed to work on to reach my goals.
This is a premium course ($199 US dollars), which is not cheap, but if you have the time and the money to invest in yourself then it definitely worth taking a look at.
So now I have explained why I haven’t been writing for a while, it is time to start writing again. Next is CSS, which I am really excited to work on.
